The Impact Story

Our story began on a high school stage in Tulsa, Oklahoma.

The Toymaker's Dream cast with their tour bus

The Toymaker's Dream

This unlikely, word-of-mouth hit went on to tour the world for nearly 20 years and reach a collective audience in the millions.

At its heart, The Toymaker's Dream was an imaginative retelling of the Gospel, spoken in the language of spectacle—dance, acrobatics, mime, pyro, lasers, and 80s spandex. Even where borders were closed, Toymaker could get in. This cast of dreamers toured the former Soviet Union, China, Cuba, and more.

In 1985, Impact Productions was incorporated as a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization to support the vision to Reach a Sight & Sound Generation with the Gospel.

Mediums change. Our vision remains the same.

Since the touring days, Impact Productions has expanded its reach through animation, documentaries, TV series, books, and film. Today, the Impact Team fulfills its mission on stages and screens of every size.

  • With Andrea Bocelli we've made TV specials, reality series, and two theatrical films built on hymns and sacred music.
  • The VeggieTales Show reintroduced Bob and Larry to a new generation, with Scripture and encouraging lessons taking center stage.
  • In Jesus: Refugee, Renegade, Redeemer, Bear Grylls retraces the footsteps of the historical Jesus through the wilds of Israel.
  • Mike Rowe's hit podcast came to life as a series of surprising, inspirational stories about American heroes.

In 2015 we partnered with the world's largest religious broadcaster—Trinity Broadcasting Network. The result was a refreshed slate, multiple hit series, and collaborations with Max Lucado, Joel Osteen, Mike Huckabee, Bear Grylls, Mike Rowe, and more.
